El sistema educativo en Finlandia

Además, Javier Melgarejo resume en su tesis 13 años de trabajo comparando en profundidad las diferencias que hacen que el sistema educativo español sea tan deficiente con respecto al sistema educativo finés.

  • Las clases son de 12 alumnos como máximo. En España la media es de 30.

  • Los exámenes son mínimos y solo se empiezan a partir de los 16 años.

  • Los mejores profesores de la promoción son seleccionados para trabajar.

  • Si los futuros profesores tienen que tener medias de 9 o más, los formadores en la universidad de éstos tienen unos expedientes y capacidades aún superiores.

  • Los finlandeses piensan que el profesor es como el molde, si el molde es excelente las copias serán mejores que si es mediocre.

  • El sistema social defiende y se basa (y por lo tanto su sistema educativo lo perpetúa) en el Estado del Bienestar y no tanto en la competencia, el libre-mercado y el neoliberalismo.

  • La disciplina es muy alta, se mandan deberes y se potencia el esfuerzo.

  • Se llegan a tener dos profesores por aula y se come gratuitamente una vez al día.

  • Los niños tienen médicos y enfermeras escolares. Son el futuro y por lo tanto la prioridad.

  • Los profesores y maestros son escrupulosamente escogidos en base a su capacidad educativa y su grado de sensibilidad social.

  • Se valora si los aspirantes han participado o no en actividades sociales, voluntariado, etc. Un profesor sin sensibilidad social ¿para qué quiere ser maestro?

  • Son necesarias otras propiedades que, según dicen, “se tienen o no se tienen”: capacidad de comunicación, actitud social y empatía.

Physicists Manipulate Waves To Make Tractor Beam

Scientists studying how floating particles move on the surface of water have come up with a way to pull them in, push them away or make them stay still. They can now precisely control objects by generating waves with specified frequency and amplitude.

The work by Australian National University researchers might find use in cleaning up oil spills. It could also lead to a better understanding of how moving water develops into rip currents.

"We have figured out a way of creating waves that can force a floating object to move against the direction of the wave," said physicist Horst Punzmann, who led the research. "No one could have guessed this result."
